Why I chose to create a print

For my media project I have chosen to create a magazine over a video for various reasons, the main reason being that I personally feel a magazine can target a wider audience than what a short film can. This is because a magazine can look at various different age groups by looking at different bands within the genre of your choosing. For example if you was to choose rock you could have an article of a band such as Queen that would attract an older audience and another article on a more modern band such as The Killers attracting a younger audience, whereas regardless of how you make a short film it will have a far more specific audience.

In addition to this I have a lot more experience with software such as Photoshop as opposed to using programmes that would be used to create a film, an example being iMovie. I feel it is important for me to use a software that I am comfortable using for this project to make sure my work is of a high standard instead of wasting time experimenting with features of a programme that is new to me.

The final reason I chose a magazine was because I feel it is easier to get feedback from the public so I can make the magazine to fit what they want whereas a film leaves so many possibilities it is hard to make something that could attract an audience as large as what a magazine would
